John Fairbairn 1![]()
Tara Hawkins stated that this John and Thomas Fairbairn were twins. However, it is likely that this John died before 1887 and that the John which was a twin of Thomas was born around 1889. ![]()

Martin Fairbairn's own knowledge, This John was recorded in the 1881 census. However, Tara Hawkins believes that a John was born in 1887 as a twin to Alice, but that the second John died in infancy. James Jeffrey Fairbairn also believes that Alice had a twin. There was definitely another John by the time of the 1891 census (aged 1), who was probably a twin to Thomas.
It is therefore likely that the John born around 1879 died before 8 March 1887.
8 Tara Hawkins, http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Estates/7114/, If this John did die at a young age, this 'event' obviously could not be correct. Instead, it might refer to the John born in 1890.
