Sarah, wife of John Thomas was also known as Sally was born in Staffordshire where it appears that her brother Samuel and sister Mary were born, her sister Margaret was born in Durham. It is believed that Sarah spoke Welsh as her daughter Phoebe Jones ? (really a true Rochester (some doubt as to her father ?) called her mother by the Welsh name for mother.
