FUNERAL CARD In Memory of Henrietta Annie Fairbairn (nee Sund) On Sunday, January 12, 1997 at the Misericordia Hospital, our mother passed away with her dear friend Martin Staines at her side. Born October 20, 1923 at Woodlands, Manitoba. Friends may call to pay their respects on Thursday, January 16 from 7-8 pm at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall Funeral Service will be held in the Harrow United Church, at Harrow and Mulvey St., Winnipeg, Manitoba on Friday, January 17th, 1997 at 11:00am. Rev. Art Veldhuis will officiate. Interment will take place at 3:30pm in the St. George's Cemetery, Woodlands , Manitoba, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 pm in the Woodlands Community Hall. In lieu of flowers, if friends so deaire may make donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Muscular Distrophy Association or to the Manitoba Kidney Foundation. OBITUARY
On Sunday, January 12, 1997 at the Misericordia Hospital, our Mother passed away with her dear friend Martin Staines at her side. Mother will be lovingly remebered by her children, Alice Priest, James (Glenys), Diane Grauman (Roger), Doug (Barbara Howell) and Michelle; grandchildreen, Debbie, Teresa, Pamela, John, Jason, David, Cheryl, Keith, Azure, James, Terrance, Jacob, and Alana; great-grandsons, Axel and Jesse. Also left to cherish Mother's memory are her sister Mary Laing (George) and two brothers, Norman Sund and Vernon Sund (Dot). Mother was predeceased by her husband Tom in 1976; daughter Verna Scully in 1965 and an infant son Frederick in 1942. Our Mother was born on October 20, 1923 in her grandmother's home in Woodlands, MB. She left Woodlands in 1941, after marrying her husband Tom. They were posted in various towns in Southern Ontario and in Camp Shilo and Winnipeg until Tom retired from the Armed Forces in 1965. Our parents continued to reside and raise their family in Winnipeg. Mother was a longtime member of Harrow United Church, the UCW Unit No.7 and the Earl Grey Seniors. She enjoyed cards and scrabble games, playing the piano and organ, her yard full of flowers, taking care of her home and time spent with family and friends. Above all Mother had a great love for her family and devoted her life to us. Friends may call to pay their respects on Thursday, January 16 from 7:00 to 8:00pm at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Funeral service will be held in the Harrow United Church at Harrow and Mulvey St., Winnipeg at 11:00am on Friday, January 17. Rev. Art Veldhuis will officiate. The cause of his death was lung cancer.
