Gravestone reads: "Erected by Mrs Ellen Major in loving memory of her niece Grace Mooney, who departed this life on Oct. 9 1908, aged 36. Also her niece Ellen Mooney who departed this life on Jul 9 1898 aged 31 and is interred in Edinburgh. Also Jane Fleming or Mooney mother of the above who died 18 Jan. 1926 aged 89 years."
Notes by M Fairbairn: (1) The above states Jane died on "18 Jan. 1926". However, her death record quite clearly states 15 Jan 1926. I suspect the error is in the transcription of the gravestone by the writer of the letter. (2) It also states that Grace died on "Oct. 9 1908". However, other sources clearly state 9 October 1904. Again, I suspect a transcription error by the letter writer. Buried in Dunfermline cemetery.
